Q:  How much does it cost to attend programmes and retreats at the Janssen Centre?

A: As we are a not-for-profit organisation, we have a suggested or recommended amount for most events.  These donations help us to cover our costs and to continue to provide a wide range of programmes and events.  The suggested donations for 2015 are:

  • Weekend Retreats (7pm Friday to Sunday afternoon) Live-in: $205.00.   Live-out: $150.00   (Concession Card Holders Live-in - $145.  Live-out: $130)
  • Two day retreats (9am Saturday to 4pm on Sunday)  Live-in: $185.00.   Live-out: $130.00   (Concession Card Holders Live-in - $135.  Live-out: $100)
  • One night stay $70.00 (includes, breakfast, lunch, morning and afternoon teas) 
  • Day visits including use of a bedroom, lunch and teas - $70.00
  • Day visits (excluding use of bedroom) includes lunch and teas - $60.00

Requested donations vary according to the length of programmes less than a full day.  See advertisements.

A deposit of $50.00 per person is requested when making a booking.

Q:  Do you have live-in accommodation?

A: Yes, the Centre has 19 bedrooms.  Please see our Facilities Page.


Q:  Do you have facilities for people with special needs?

A: Three of our bedrooms on the ground level have full wheel-chair access.  Toilet, bathroom and shower are disabled-friendly.  The chapel, dining room, meditation lounges and meeting rooms are designed to allow easy access by wheel-chair.  The cook is also able to cater to special dietary needs.


Q:  How is payment made?

A: Your donation can be made by cheque or cash. Unfortunately we do not have facilities for payment by credit card or efpost.


Q:  Where is the Janssen Centre located?

A: Located in the foothills of the Dandenongs, the Centre is in the residential suburb of Boronia, 29 km east of Melbourne, near Ferntree Gully.  Melways Map 64.

Q:  What sort of clothing should I bring?

A:  It is advisable to bring warm clothing in the winter and good walking shoes. In-door slippers or shoes are also recommended.


Q:  What else should I bring?

A:  Bring only a warm and a loving heart – all else will be provided.
